Oven to Heaven
Everybody’s going.
Might as well laugh on the way down.
This is Urnest.
Urnest is an urn. Urnest has more outfits than you do. This started because somebody in this house kept dressing a real urn like a tiny Mr. Potato Head with terrible boundaries, and it turned out to be the least sad thing that had happened in months.
That’s the entire thesis of this website. So go on. Dress him.
Urnest. Factory settings. Somehow still the most judgmental thing in the room.
Real, buyable versions of some pieces — affiliate links, see disclosure.
And these are the real ones.
Shot properly, lit properly, taken completely seriously, because that is the joke and also because it isn’t one. People have been dressing their dead for as long as there have been dead people to dress. We just gave it a photographer.
Some outfits are shoppable — affiliate links, see our disclosure. You pay the same price either way, and no, none of these are marketed as urn clothes. Nobody makes that. That’s the joke.
The Reckoning
What death actually costs and what you are legally owed. Cremation prices, the Funeral Rule, and every upsell they will try while you are too wrecked to argue.
02The Wardrobe
Urns, memorial jewellery, keepsakes, and the gloriously strange far end of the memorial aisle. Reviewed with actual opinions, including the unkind ones.
03Small Bodies
Pet death. The grief nobody gives you time off for. What to do in the first hour, what cremation costs, and permission to be completely destroyed about it.
04Gallows
The fun end. Death customs, memento mori, funeral history, and Urnest — an urn with a better wardrobe than most of the living.
Where the joke stops.
We make fun of death, the funeral industry, the $9,000 casket with the memory foam, the word cremains, and our own guaranteed ends. We are relentless about it.
We do not make fun of you, your person, your animal, your religion, or your grief. Not once, not ever, not for a bit. The humour is a door. The help is the room. If a page here is only funny, we didn’t finish it.
And if you are in the part of this where laughing is not currently available — that’s allowed, and there are people whose entire job is right now.
